Unit Corporation (NYSE: UNT) announced today that its wholly-owned
subsidiary, Superior Pipeline Company LLC, has completed the
installation and start-up of the Lone Tree Gas Processing Plant, located
in Hemphill County, Texas. The Lone Tree Plant is a turbo expander plant
with processing capacity of 50 million cubic feet (MMcf) per day. The
completion of the Lone Tree Plant increases the company’s current
Hemphill Processing Complex capacity to 100 MMcf per day. The Hemphill
Processing Complex, formally the Hemphill Gathering System, was
purchased in 2003. At that time, the system was gathering 9.3 MMcf per
day. Within the last seven years, the system has been expanded to
include four processing plants and 130 miles of associated gathering
lines in the Granite Wash trend of Hemphill and Roberts Counties, Texas.
Residue gas is delivered into Southern Star Pipeline and ONEOK Westex
Pipeline with a future outlet planned into Northern Natural Gas Company.
Natural gas liquids from the Hemphill Processing Complex are delivered
into ONEOK Hydrocarbon, LP.
